  • From Clean Memphis: #LoveWhereYouLive: Starting your own home vegetable garden? Here are a few time-tested tips. It's easy to start and doesn't require as much effort as you think! You'll be enjoying your fresh veggies in no time.⠀
⠀
1) Location is key. Most vegetable plants do best in full sun.⠀
2) It’s all about the soil. The best soil includes lots of compost and organic matter such as composted leaves.⠀
3) Water wisely. One inch of water per week is adequate!⠀
4) Use Mulch. Add a three-inch layer of any organic mulch around your plants and over the irrigation lines if possible.⠀
5) Don’t over fertilize. Excessive fertilizer can be harmful to your plants and the soil.⠀
